This utility has been written by Lumension (Patchlink) but is not supported by them, or by Novell.

You can use this utility to install the ZPM 6.4 Agent version 6.4.2.252 to a PC, or remove the agent, or upgrade to this version.

Command-line options

/remove Removes all old agent data (if any)
/unregister Removes all old agent data and unregisters the agent from PLUS (probably slower than /remove)

Using this tool

This installs the 6.4.0.252 agent. Is it OK to use this version for Novells Patch Management and not the 6.4.2.252? The utility does what I want, but I don't want to get started if I need to be installing the 6.4.2.252 Novell agent. What is the differences in the two agents? Thanks for any help you can give. Ken

Big oops, and apology

This was a mistake on my part - Patchlink had shipped the agent utility to me, I'd tested that it did the install, but I didn't verify the agent version. We now have a new one, and that's been placed here on the web site. You should be good to go now.

Orca works well also

I modified the .msi file using Orca (Part of the Windows Installer SDK)

Both Server and Serial are listed under Properties.

Use "msiexec /i filename.msi /passive" or /silent to create unattended or completely silent installers.

there are several ways to install the agent - this utility can help in circumstances where the standard, preferred, method does not work.

Hi,

how does it work with ORCA? When setting the server path and serial it keeps comming up with error 1609. Is there anything else that needs to be changed in the msi?

Is there any planning when it will work with the downloaded installer.msi directly?
