Prerequisites

  1. Perl must be installed and running on the Linux server where this utility will be used.
  2. NSS must be installed to get the VFS support.
    (The SDK for this API set can be downloaded from http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Virtual....)
  3. nsscon must be installed.

Details

This tool can be used to enable and disable Hard Link attribute for specified nss volume.

It uses Virtual File Services (Originally called Virtual File Services for NetWare) and nsscon to enable or disable Hard Link attribute.

How to use the utility:

From a terminal prompt type:

Perl enableHardLink.pl <enter>

Following menu will be displayed:

1. Update Hard Link attribute
2. Exit

A sample output on selecting 1 would be:

<Lists all the volumes existing on the machine and prompts volume name>

Note: If disable is selected and Hard Link is not enabled for the specified volume then tool will prompt Hard Link not enabled for the specified volume.
