Good news for GroupWise admins who are looking to move to SUSE Linux Enterprise 10. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 is now supported by a major GroupWise partner product, GWAVA Reload, as of a recent support pack. Reload is a Linux-based backup and restore solution for GroupWise, that supports GroupWise on any platform.
It seems that GWAVA Reload has some components that are BASH shell scripts. Aspects of these BASH shell scripts were looking for exit codes. GWAVA Reload wasn't immediately compatible with SLES10 because of different exit
status behavior in SLES10. Check the end of this article for details about BASH exit code changes with SLES10.
Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).
It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
