QUESTION: Want to try out applications without compiling them from sources or having to cope with dependencies?
ANSWER: Try KLIK! (http://klik.atekon.de/)
KLIK has an entry on opensuse.org (http://www.opensuse.org/SUPER_KLIK), which explains fairly well the technology behind KLIK.
A place with tested packages can be found here:
http://opensuse.linux.co.nz/klik/10.0/
EXAMPLE: To install KLIK:
- Type in a console: "wget klik.atekon.de/client/install -O - | sh"
- Then type: "su" (enter your root password)
- Then type: "sh klik-cmg-install-root"
- Now, try to run Opera with this URL (in Firefox or Konqueror):
- klik://opera

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
