Custom Toolbar Speeds Up Individual Mailbox Management

Problem

On our Groupwise system, we purge emails older than 90 days once every quarter. On some systems, purges occur weekly. Either way, the more email you get, the more important it is to manage it - by either archiving what you want to keep or deleting the stuff that is no longer needed.

It occurred to me that (by default) there is not a button on the toolbar for "Send to Archive", but one sure would be handy whenever I'm going through the exercise of archiving/deleting my older emails.

Solution

You can easily fix this:

1. Right-click on the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar.

2. Choose Customize and then Actions.

3. Choose the buttons you want to add to your toolbar.

By placing a new button for "Archive" on my toolbar, I can very quickly go through my emails to either delete or archive as necessary.

I don't typically use QuickViewer for day-to-day use, but for this particular task it also comes in very handy because it shows the next email immediately after I archive/delete one, so I can just click either Archive or Delete again, as I work my way through the pile.
