The 2008 Novell Technical PartnerNet Specializations Program has been built around the 4 PartnerNet Solution Areas: Linux, Identity & Security Management, Systems & Resource Management and Workgroup. In each of these Solution Areas, Novell now offers one or more "Learning Paths" that lead to an official PartnerNet Specialization.

More details about the program and the different solution areas can be found here where you'll find a Q&A Document providing you with a list of possible questions you might have and the answers to them.

Two of the top questions you may have are:

Question: If I was compliant with my Technical Specialist Certification in 2007, what do I need to do to retain that compliance through 2008?

Answer: Nothing. No action is required because 2007 Technical Specialist Certifications remain valid throughout 2008!

Novell values the investment that the Solution Providers have made in 2007 and ensure partners keep their acquired technical knowledge up to date with the current versions of the Novell products. During 2008, Novell will invite Solution Providers to attend various Novell events which will update you on the latest versions or additions to Novell technologies. A "Novell Event" may be anything from a Novell TechFest, to an Instructor Led training or an on-line/on-demand session on the Internet.

Question: How do I know if I am currently compliant with my Technical Specialist certification?

Answer: All Certification information is easily accessible from within the PartnerNet Portal. Please refer to the "How To: Specializations" tutorial which explains how to do this.
