This script automates the eDirectory Basic Health Check on OES Linux. It runs a timesync check, replica synchronization status, and an external reference check (checking for stuck obits). It takes the resulting log and emails it to you.

In our environment, we simply placed the script in to /etc/cron.daily to get this emailed to us daily. It is much easier to have these logs emailed to you for review first thing in the morning than running the basic health check manually.

In SLES9, the scripts in cron.daily run at 4:15am every day. In SLES10, the default for cron.daily to run on the quarter hour after the server last rebooted, daily. If you want to change this, you can with YAST. There's an option in YaST (System->etc/Sysconfig-Editor->System->Cron) named DAILY_TIME.
