Novell/Linux Engineer
Description: The primary focus of this position is to provide integration, design, and engineering services for our clients. This is a high-visibility position requiring an individual primarily versed and experienced with Novell/Linux technologies. In addition, the individual must possess outstanding communication and troubleshooting skills, as well as good planning and foresight to help design and implement solutions to improve technology environments. K-12 education market experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
* Actively participate in the planning, design, and implementation of Novell Netware/OES, eDirectory, GroupWise, ZENworks, other Novell/Linux technologies, infrastructure, and related hardware for clients
* Exceed client’s expectations on quality and thoroughness on each solution
* Identify service opportunities in focus areas (Microsoft, Linux Enterprise, Novell) within existing client base
* Deliver high-quality solutions to our clients to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives
Requirements:
* Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) certification required
* CLP or CLE certification preferred
* Other certifications are a plus
* Experience with Novell Netware/OES, ZENworks, GroupWise, BorderManager, Clustering, and other Novell technologies desired
* Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP & IPX), associated applications, and troubleshooting skills
* 3+ years enterprise technical experience in an engineering position
* Excellent knowledge of Novell and/or Microsoft server environments
* Strong knowledge of Network directories such as Novell eDirectory and/or MS Active Directory
* Excellent customer service background with professional appearance and communication skills required
* Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment and/or independently with minimal supervision and guidance
* Working Microsoft, Cisco, Linux knowledge or certification(s) preferred
* Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Limited travel may be required.
