This past week, I was over at the EDUCAUSE conference, where one of our key partners, Lenovo, announced the availability of one of their upcoming netbooks, the s10e, preloaded with SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop.
For those who aren't too familiar, netbooks are all the rage these days. They're essentially smaller versions of laptops -- portable, handy, and lightweight, and offered at an extremely attractive price point. According to Lenovo, the s10e will be targeted at the education market -- for K-12 users and as secondary devices for higher ed students. While I was over at the Lenovo booth, I got a chance to try one of these devices myself -- very cool. Slim, 10" screen, built on Intel's Atom processor, and best of all, running SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these sweet machines when they come out later this month.
