"I use SUSE as a satellite ground station for the international space station, and other satellites. I put a relay card off the parallel port and use perl to control battery chargers. The satellite modem goes into a perl script and mysql database. A php front end delivers the satellite status. I also use suse to track aircraft using ADS-B. SUSE also is my satellite tracking engine. One day I will get it talking to PIC microcontrollers to steer my antenna system."

"I finally got rid of microsoft windows product from my laptop and installed the openSUSE 10.2 and it went successful without any problem. I really love the Linux OS better than Windows. I am learning the basics of Linux and it will take me while for me getting used to the Linux OS. I still have after effects from using windows products for 10-years and now I am sick and tired of Windows, I will never go back to windows. Keep up the execellent Linux OS I just ordered new version of openSUSE 10.3 I purchased it for 5.00 full version and can't wait for it. I am interested in becoming a cne or cna to become more a advanced user in Linux OS and Novell Certifications that I will take soon once I get the study material."

"I use SLES as a rsync backup server, every night I sync 100s of gigs of data from Netware, Linux, Windows and MACs to a SLES box keeping a 5 day set. For this school system it is about 3 terabytes of data. It is a VERY low cost and a great backup solution. Very easy to restore files using a Samba share as well."

"I purchased Novell Enterprise Desktop as a Windows alternative. I expected much than I received. I expected an installed that required a large amount manual configurationand much reading. What I got was a trouble installation and everything I look for in a desktop, an Office package (free), a Windows like interface (2 for free), a free browser and much, much more. I tell everyone about the trouble free installation and ALL the software. What a great implementation."

"Moved to SLED10 SP1 for 90% of management work. Most of our software has Linux console etc. so moving to linux was logical. To still use ZEN desktop management (Win stations) we use XEN and run plain XP sp2 on it to support needed functions for ZfD, ConsoleOne etc. Works very well and is fast solution. We run this solution on hp xw8400 dual quad computer with enough memory and disk... Cooool stuff SLED and XEN!

"With our SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 platform launch in July 2006, Novell became the first major Linux distributor to integrate Xen virtualization into a Linux distribution. In September, we became the first distribution to support virtualized Linux workloads on Xen, and today we are the first distributor to support virtualized Windows workloads on Linux. Our commitment to innovation to solve customer problems has never been greater."

"Using SLED since day one, after using several other distributions like Gentoo and Linux from Scratch, I needed one that 'Just Works' without being and administrator for my Laptop all the time. I use VMWare for my (customers) Windows needs and for the rest IT Works!"
Great work done guys!!!!!–T Duis
"I'm in the US Army and deployed to Iraq right now, but as soon as I get back to the States I plan on starting an open source consulting business. I ordered SLED 10 and I've installed it while I'm out here. I've run everything from RedHat 5 to Gentoo, and SLED 10 SP1 is the best Linux distribution I've ever used. Novell nailed this one."
