After installing Open Enterprise Server 2 iprintman CLI fails with Authorization Error.

Install OES 2.

Run command iprintman psm -l.

It prompts for User name and Password.

After entering it throws the error:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'OpenWBEM4::HTTPException'

what(): Unable to process request: 401: Authentication failure

Aborted.

Cause:

For iprintman to work properly LUM enable the admin user.

Resolution:

LUM enable the admin user.

Steps for LUM enabling:

  1. Run yast2 novell-lum from terminal.

  2. Press Continue.

  3. Enter admin password.

  4. Press Next.

  5. Press Next.

So what do you do when namuserlist works (both before and after the procedure listed above) but you still get the error shown above ??

namuserlist -x ou=site,o=org
novlxregd:x:81:81:Novell XRegD System User:/var/opt/novell/xtier/xregd:/bin/false
novlxsrvd:x:82:81:Novell XSrvD System User:/var/opt/novell/xtier/xsrvd:/bin/false
