Environment:
GroupWise 7.0.3hp2 & GroupWise 8hp1
Problem
After applying the latest patch for GroupWise, users could no longer compose mail when using the basic interface in WebAccess. This is the error received.
Compile Error: seltime.inc: Line 36: ) was encountered. } was expected.. Cannot load file: send.htt.
There are two TIDs about this, one without a fix (7002531) and the other states to reinstall WebAccess (7002583) which will negate all of the security fixes.
Solution
In order to fix this problem some template files will need to be replaced with older versions. Hopefully, you still have a clean SDD of 7.0.3hp1a or 8.
Unload WebAccess, Apache and Tomcat.
Find the directory containing the simple templates. Just do a search for the file mentioned in the error, send.htt. You will find a few of them. Your only concern is the one in the directory called simple.
Rename the whole directory and copy the older simple directory to that location.
Restart Apache and Tomcat and WebAccess.
This will fix the problem, but may negate a security fix.
Location in Software Distribution Directory…
SDD\internet\webacces\servlets\com\novell\webaccess\templates\simple
Location on WebAccess server may vary. Here’s an example…
sys:\tomcat\4\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\com\novell\webaccess\templates\simple

A GroupWise HP, or SP, what a waste

Hi,
This is really a solution that makes me want to think twice before installing a GroupWise HP or SP.
"go back to the previous version" is the solution for this.
even more,
"This will fix the problem, but may negate a security fix." ...
Come up with something better than that.
This does not make a next HP or SP be trustworthy.
Grtz,
Gert
