H&W Computer Systems is seeking an experienced software
architect for a new product development project in Boise,
Idaho. The software architect is
responsible for driving the development process and to work with the product
manager to make decisions regarding technical, product direction. The ideal
candidate will have proven skills and experience in managing software
development teams, (both local and remote), conceptualizing requirements to
functional design, and guiding the team through the agile software development
process. To perform at the levels required by the job, the software architect must
have both the technical and business acumen that is needed to interface with
the different team members.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors’ degree in technology and/or business-related
  field or minimum of 10 years relevant technical experience

Technical Experience

            Agile Product Development

• Proven experience in software architecture
  design and product development
• In-depth knowledge and experience in information
  systems architecture, software design methodologies, software design
  patterns, and object-oriented design
• Demonstrated experience and certification with agile
  delivery of software using practices from either SCRUM, XP, Lean, etc.
• Process and technical mentoring , leadership,
  and coaching
• Ability to work with domain experts to
  conceptualize requirements to functional design
• Understand
  full lifecycle of applications and therefore the changes to the
  application structure and design practices.

Languages and Platforms

• Experience in Linux kernel internals a plus
• Demonstrated experience with C/C++, Java,
  Java-based framework architectures such as SWING and MVC
• Experience with Tomcat, JBoss, or WebSphere
• Experience of mainframe technologies including z/VM

Business Acumen

• Understands IT financial management and modeling
• Provides strong and decisive technical
  leadership

            Communication

• Effective communicator adept in delivering
  superior customer service and bridging business and technical communities
