Why is Intelligent Workload Management important to IaaS providers?
Because IaaS providers need to enable business continuity:Scale up/Scale down: On demand availability of IT resources based on their business needs with no downtime Ensure that they are meeting their service level agreements including billing Guarantee that the right people have access to the right information when they need it and meet any compliance requirements
How does IWM help IaaS Providers? Because it promises to deliver tools that build, secure, manage and measure cloud environments. Essentially breaking it down to cloud management- including workload provisioning, automation, orchestration, lifecycle management (building workloads and killing them when necessary), billing and security management, access and identity management and compliance.
Sounds like a perfect match. Service providers and particularly IaaS providers should start paying attention to what's going on and who is playing in the intelligent workload management market.
