GWAVACon EMEA 2010 Well Worth the Investment

Dear GWAVACon Team,

Just a quick email to let you know how much I enjoyed this year's EMEA GWAVACon in Berlin. Before deciding to go, we had to consider the overall cost of attending this event. We needed to be sure that the investment in time and financial resources would pay off for us.

I have to tell you that this event more than met my expectations in these and other areas. Speaking specifically about GWAVA solutions, the information I learned from GWAVA specialists about new products and features and how to position them to our customers was invaluable. I also got the chance to ask questions that only those with product development knowledge could sufficiently answer. Not only that, I felt that through sharing meals and other leisure time activities with GWAVA specialists over the course of the event allowed me to develop relationships where I would feel comfortable picking up the phone to ask questions directly about product releases in the future.

In addition to getting to know GWAVA products and staff better I also was able to expand relationships with other Novell partners present at the event, such as GroupLink who we have worked closely with in the past. It was great to be able to put a face to people I had spoken with over the phone on many occasions. I also learned a great deal about their product development road map and how to effectively present their solutions to my customers.

It goes without saying that the information Novell put out themselves on the future direction of GroupWise, Teaming, OES and Vibe were very informative.

Probably the most valuable aspect of my attendance at GWAVACon was the relationship I developed with other GWAVA partners in the UK. True, we all offer GWAVA solutions to our customers, but we also found that each of us had skill sets valuable to each other. In other words, I found partners that I can work with to close more business because of the skills we have around Virtualization or they have that we don't possess, a true win - win. I have already been in touch with some of these partners since the event and look forward to closing more business with them soon.
