If you're like me, and you expect to find most things on the "information superhighway" (does anyone call it that anymore?) to be available for free, and if one of those things happens to be free admin training for Vibe OnPrem 3, then read on....

My team has developed a quick training module that will help you get Vibe OnPrem 3 installed and configured in your enterprise. And it only takes about 15 minutes to go through it. It's an elearning deliverable, published in Flash; and it's posted on our Freelearning website at http://bit.ly/gZVPX2.

A little background--we did an analysis and found that most administrators, starting their first Vibe OnPrem 3 implementation, need to know how to do the following tasks:

• Install Vibe OnPrem 3
• Use the Basic Installation Summary Sheet (to help plan and complete an install)
• Create a Vibe OnPrem 3 Site
• Add Users
• Synchronize with an LDAP Directory
• Create Workspaces and Templates
• Create a Site Wide Brand
• Manage Users
• Manage Access
• Run Reports
• Back Up Data
• Find More Information

So these tasks are all covered in this quick training for administrators. Many of these tasks are demonstrated in Flash videos that are found within this training module.

This elearning was created from a very straight-forward approach and I hope you'll find it an easy to use, helpful resource to get you started with a Vibe OnPrem 3 implementation in your enterprise.

Let me stress that this is just to help you get started. Vibe OnPrem 3 is quite robust and powerful and there a lot of powerful and advanced things you can do once you get it installed and basically configured. This might sound like I'm leading you into an upsell pitch to get you into some training that you need to pay for. But, not so.

The Vibe OnPrem 3 product team has put some great resources, available for free, on their product page at http://www.novell.com/products/vibe-onprem/resourc.... It's no exaggeration to say that there are many dozens of useful pieces of information on this web page. Everything from articles to video demonstrations, with use cases and working examples in a virtual sandbox in between.
