Today, Novell released the latest version of its best-in-class access governance technology: Novell Access Governance Suite 4.2.2. The new release includes support for additional operating systems as well as enhancements that improve visibility into real-time processes and provide additional system-configuration options.
Access governance is quickly emerging as a must-have capability for organizations that are required to comply with a growing list of industry and government regulations. In fact, several regulations—including PCI-DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, HITECH, NERC and others—require organizations to continually review who has access to what and to mitigate the risk that access poses to the organization. Leading analyst firms like the Burton Group recognize the ongoing need for access governance—and access certifications, in particular—as a critical component of compliance and risk management efforts. The Burton Group has specifically stated that, “[b]ecause of a steady increase in regulations, internal controls, and external audit pressures, all enterprises will eventually have to perform some form of access certification.
A component of Novell Compliance Management solutions, Novell Access Governance Suite simplifies how access to information resources is governed and certified. This latest release, Novell Access Governance Suite 4.2.2, advances that aim with the following enhancements:
- Support for Red Hat environments: With this release, customers running Red Hat Linux version 5 will now be able to leverage the access certification, role mining and change management features of the Access Governance Suite.
- Greater visibility into real-time processes: Enhanced monitoring features provide greater visibility into real-time system processes, system status, and system diagnostics.
- Additional system-configuration options: For added flexibility, version 4.2.2 includes new configuration options that enable you to control business-rules implementation, define the number of roles allowed in role-analysis operations, define the import file-size limit, define a session-timeout warning interval, and purge collected data from the system.
All existing Novell Access Governance Suite customers with current maintenance are entitled to upgrade to the latest release. New customers may purchase Novell Access Governance Suite 4.2.2 by contacting their Novell or partner representative.
