Setting Up a LAG Cluster with NAM

(View Disclaimer)

Problem

A Forum reader recently asked:

I'm in the midst of doing the LAG (Link Aggregation Group) cluster. I have 2 machines that need to be LAG-clustered. Both machine are installed with LAG and the embedded identity server. No patches has been applied so far. Can you advise me how to do the cluster? Does the cluster work only with the access gateway, or together with the embedded identity server?

And here's the response from Gert Vanden Berghe ...

Solution

What you should do is this:

1. Install both machines.

2. Create a configuration for the IDP and assign the two IDP's to that.

3. Create a group-configuration for the LAG and assign the two LAG's to that.

4. On your load-balancer, assign 2 VIP's (one for the IDP and one for the LAG).

I have this running and it is working fine. I even installed two management consoles.
