Problem

A Forum reader recently asked:

"Does NSL 6.0.1 support Oracle applications' Java-based logins? How can we configure Java applications that cannot screen scrape?"

And here's the response from David Guest ...

Solution

You can make jInitiator work - but - it has to be a specific release to do it. This is what you do:

1. Check the version of jInitiator. It needs to be 1.3.1.17 or higher.

2. Copy the "javasso.jar" and "jaccess.jar" files to the jinitiator directory.

3. Edit the "accessibility.properties" file and add "assistive_technologies=com.protocom.sso.javasso.JavaSSOHook"

4. Edit the "awt.properties" file and add
"AWT.assistive_technologies=com.protocom.sso.javasso.JavaSSOHook"

If you have the Java enabled in NSL, that "should" enable the support you require.

Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
