Connecting a GMS Server to Multiple Post Offices

(View Disclaimer)

Problem

We have a GMS server using SOAP to a post office on GroupWise 7.02. I can't find anything in the documentation about how to connect the GMS server to multiple post offices. What are the options? I don't seem to be able to configure SOAP at a higher level than the POA.

Solution

1. Go to:
Intellisync Admin Console > Intellisync Mobile Suite
Properties > Authentication > Authentication Sources.

2. Add each PO as a source.

3. Authenticate to each with a user from the PO.

After that, users from multiple PO's can authenticate.

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.

Those steps aren't accurate.

First, SOAP must still be enabled on each POA where GMS is going to be used. Second, typically you only have to add one PO as a source into GMS. When a user in another PO attempts to connect to GMS, the one PO configured within GMS should autoredirect the user to the appropriate PO.

Can those PO's be on multiple Domains

I have 4 school districts that I am responsible for but we have not merged the trees yet. The groupwise systems are connected but under individual domains.

I truly do not want 4 servers running if I can help it.

TIA Mark
