Free Novell Open Workgroup Suite Small Business Edition Starter Pack for Your Customers
You can now offer your customers Novell Open Workgroup Suite Small Business Edition (NOWS SBE) for free! Announced in a Nov 3rd Novell Product Announcement and available as of Dec 3rd, the NOWS SBE Starter Pack provides 5 free licenses to help customers test drive the suite risk-free. Customers can purchase additional licenses for the remainder of their users once they have decided to deploy the product.
As a Novell partner, you can use the NOWS SBE Starter Pack to promote sales and create a foundation for value-added products and services. It's easy as well; you order the Starter Pack like any other Novell product from your Novell distributor of choice. Note that the NOWS SBE Starter Pack provides 5 free licenses of the product, but it doesn't include Maintenance. Don't forget to explain the value of Maintenance to your customers and add that to the order as well.

Obtaining the starter pack

Hi Nanu,
You will need to obtain the starter pack directly from a Novell product distributor. We use Bell Micro, but there are a number of distributors to chose from (Computer 2000) etc.
You download the evaluation directly from Novell (login to your account, go to downloads, and search for open workgroup suite- be shure to download the small business edition) and enter the license keys you receive from the distributor.
The Previous Netware based small business offering was easier to register and was done directly online. I wonder if Novell will do this in the future?
It's a great product and well worth becoming familiar with. Once it's installed we find it never goes wrong; really stable. It combiens alot of Linux benefits with ease of use.
