1. transaction program: In an SNA network, a part of an application program that performs transactions with one or more remote programs. A single application program can contain many TPs. A TP might require services from more than one system, and in such cases it is executed on each system.2. twisted pair: A pair of thin, insulated wires, twisted together to reduce signal interference. Originally used for telephones, now also used for LAN wiring. Supported by both Ethernet and token ring. Sometimes called Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) to distinguish it from shielded twisted pair.
