A few of the major enhancements include:

MS Exchange Clustered Backup -Task types can be established for MS Exchange 2010 databases via DB Availability Groups. You can easily replicate a database to a separate host location or create a second instance on the same server. This can insure against errant database entries or inadvertent DB deletions saving hours if not days to reconstruct lost data.

Integrated Analysis and Data Integrity Control for all Media Types - Automated switch settings allow constant or periodic verification of data already stored on the media. This allows the system administrators to constantly monitor and record log files regarding data media viability, integrity and availability. Results are logged for system and backup record keeping and auditing.

GUI Enhancements - The ease of use of the GUI layer has been greatly enhanced to include, in some cases, a 10 to 1 reduction in commands need to perform daily tasks, e.g. commands were reduced to a single click to set up notifications and email alerts regarding all backup activity.

Beyond Disk-to-Disk-Tape - Replication and Migration of Data - Users can backup to disk then replicate to tape to reduce system loads, but beyond this users can implement new backup technologies using and transfer SEP sesam backed up data from the old to the new without rewriting the data to the host backup server. For example, LT02/03/04 tapes can be recreated onto LT05 media eliminating the need to keep old tape drives on hand to retrieve old data.
