Migrate/sync objects using IDM triggers and dynamic groups

Sometimes I have a need to remigrate or re-sync certain objects through a driver. Sometimes there are only a couple of objects which is easy or maybe it's all objects in a container which is also easy.

But there are those occasions where I may need to re-sync several thousands of objects that match a certain criteria.

In those cases I have several options at my disposal, these are the ones I know about.

Introducing the Start Workflow Token - Part 2

In part 1 of this series, I started talking about the Start Workflow token in Novell Identity Manager.

It turns out I have a really nice troubleshooting issue to work through, that shows a bunch of possible places to have errors, and how I worked through tracking each of them down, one by one, until finally we identified the root cause of the problem. Hope you enjoy coming along for the ride.

Introducing the Start Workflow Token - Part 1

Geoffrey Carman explains the Start Workflow token. It allows you to start a workflow, passing in all the data needed on the Request form, without human intervention. This is nice because you can develop a single workflow that the system automatically runs under the correct circumstances or works for a person (or cat!) to request some kind of entitlement.
