DSfW: Post Configuration of DNS on an Additional Domain Controller in OES2SP3

During DSfW configuration, you are provided with an option to select the installation of DNS. For the first domain controller (DC) of the forest root domain, this is done by default. For all the additional domain controllers (ADC), the DNS configuration in OES2SP3 is optional. However, after DSfW configuration on the ADC, if you need to configure DNS on the ADC, it cannot be done using YaST. The script provided here enables you to configure DNS on the ADC in a post-configuration manner.

Configuring the Novell Client for Windows 7 / Windows 2008 Server to authenticate against DSFW or Microsoft AD

By default the Novell Client for Windows 7 is configured as primary network provider and a Novell OES2 DSfW server has both the NCP and SMB protocol stacks configured. In order to be able to use both the Novell Client and Microsoft Windows Network client on a Microsoft Windows 7 workstation, the network provider order has to be modified. This article has the steps to configure the Novell Client as secondary network provider on a Windows 7 Workstation so the workstation can authenticate to a DSfW domain as well.
