Fix for Sleep and Hibernate on a Thinkpad T61p with an nVidia FX570 Video Card
When I ordered my Thinkpad laptop I specified the best video card that was available thinking that it would be the best choice with SLED or OpenSuSE. That turned out to be a bad idea until now.

Staying on top of your Laptop Cooling in Linux
Do you own a laptop? Or perhaps an old clunker pc that you're using as a Linux server? Do you know how hot your CPU is running? Fact is, all CPU chips are rated for specific temperature ranges. Go over the maximum, and your computer may no longer run to specification, resulting in random behavior, crashes, lockups, or expensive damage to your hardware! Modern Linux kernels make use of temperature monitoring hardware to help you stay on top of this situation. This article will show you how to get at it.

NetWare clusters-in-a-box
We were running out of file cache memory on our 6-node NetWare cluster, and we didn't have any money for new 64-bit servers and OES 2. Xen virtualization of NetWare allowed us to move certain services off of our larger cluster onto a pair of smaller clusters, on just two
servers. This allowed us to spread the file-serving load across all 6 nodes of the old cluster, and ease our memory problems. This is how we did it.
