Volume Inventory
One of the most important tasks of a network administrator is to document the used resources. The used disk space is one part of this job. NetWare as well as OES 2 on Linux offer a quick and easy way to execute this job. As a Novell Trainer I recently noticed that several Admins do not know this task. That's the reason for this tip.

GPTrustee
There are plenty of file system trustee backup mechanisms for both NetWare and OES2 Linux, but they all hurt my brain. Sure, XML is great and who doesn't love Linux but I wanted a simple Windows app that could read the trustees from a volume hosted by either NetWare or OES2 Linux, would store the results in a human readable and modifiable format, and which I could use to restore said trustees to a volume hosted by either NetWare or OES2 Linux. This is the app I came up with.

Documenting IRF/M's and Trustees Assignments in Preparation for OES2 Migration
Want to make sure you have a full copy of all volume trustee and IRF's on a per volume basis before beginning your migration to OES2 SLES? I did and this is what I came up with....
