Installing SNMP Service Using ZCM Directive Bundle

On a managed device such as Windows XP, the SNMP service sometimes does not get installed by default when the Operating System is installed. In order to get the SNMP service installed on all the devices automatically, the Administrator can make use of the Directive Bundles provided by ZENworks Configuration Management. By using such a simple option you can save a lot of time that might be required to Install, Start and Configure the SNMP / SNMP Trap Services on a large number of managed devices in the network.

Playing with IDM 3.5.1

I'm looking at Identity Management 3.5.1, thanks to an aging internally developed identity management system that needs a rewrite. I talk about what I've found, how our own environment is put together, and how IDM 3.5.1 could possibly fit in. Our environment includes:

  • NetWare
  • eDirectory
  • Solaris/NIS+
  • Exchange 2003
  • SCT Banner
  • Blackboard
