Novell Access Manager – “Detected URL Tampering”
There are several reasons that cause the NAM to detect URL Tampering. Most often it is a name resolution issue stemming from improper DNS or HOSTS file configuration in your environment. Still, even with proper configuration your users may, appropriately, get this message. The reason may stem from users having become accustomed to using web server host or “short names” to access the web server/app before it was protected by Access Manager. If that is the case, this article will show you when and how you can configure NAM to allow “short name” access using the Virtual Mult-homing feature.

Novell Access Manager SSO using Identity Injection for the Oracle E-Business Suite
This is a short article providing an easy, but perhaps a not so obvious way, to use Novell Access Manager (NAM) for Single Sign-On (SSO) access to the Oracle E-Business Suite (OEBS). OEBS is used as the example, but the same SSO enabling strategy used here can be applied to other web applications as well.

GroupWise 7 WebAccess, IE8, and the Missing Next Button
Recently, we had heard rumblings from our users about how the "Display Next" button had disappeared in WebAccess. Not surprisingly, Internet Explorer 8 renders the web application message list in a slightly different fashion than most other browsers. The "Next" button wasn't missing, it was just buried below a large amount of whitespace in the client window, forcing the users to scroll down a screen to get to it. Here's a solution.

GroupWise 8 SP1 Linux - Script Checking Services w/auto restart/logging
This is a script I wrote to automate the restart of GroupWise 8 sp1 services on our SLES11 server. Frequently the grpwise and gwmta services would fail on the server. Restarting the services manually in the middle of the night got old fast. This script will check the grpwise and gwmta services to see if they are running or not. If not it will be logged, restarted, checked for completion, logged and if it fails, logged again.
