Problem:

Trouble installing iFolder 3 on OES in a container that has a universal password set.

Error received: Failed to configure iFolder. Please check /var/log/YaST2/y2log for more information.

Solution:

The logfile states that the iFolderProxyXXXX user was unable to be created, due to a bad password. The container has a universal password policy which limits certain characteristics, including password length.

The iFolder3 user creation process generates a 13-character random password for the iFolderProxy user. If this does not match the password policy for the container, the install fails with the above message.

Fix:

Create the iFolderProxy user in a container with different (or no) password restrictions, or loosen password restrictions for the destination container.
