Getting iManager Plug-ins to Show Up in OES Linux Server

(View Disclaimer)

Problem

With iManager running on my new OES Linux server, I was NOT able to install any modules. If you read the Novell documentation, it says the following:

In iManager, click the Configure button.
Under Module Installation, click Available Novell Plug-in Modules.

The problem is that I didn't see the the available Novell Plug-in Modules, so i was NOT able to install any modules at all.

Solution

1. Browse to the this directory:
/var/opt/novell/iManager/nps/WEB-INF

2. With any text editor, open this file: configiman.properties

3. Make sure the content is in this format:
user.OU.TREE=eDirectory

For example:
admin.Sales.Disney_Tree=eDirectory

4. Restart Tomcat.

You should be able to see the Plug-in Installation link in iManager.

Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
