Share your experiences with the Novell community and earn your rewards!

It's simple, really: because we value your expertise, you can earn awards and prizes for sharing with the Novell community. Tell us how you're using your favorite Novell products to do something unique, save time, streamline a process, boost your bottom line or troubleshoot an issue. Whether you send a short tip or a full-length article, you'll be making a difference and building the Novell support experience. Here are some ways you can earn points:

Points are redeemable for cool prizes, up to and including a cruise for two! Other prizes include PDAs, ipods, GPS devices, Novell apparel, Novell Training courses, cool toys from Think Geek, Cybertools, and more.

here's how it works

Points are redeemable for prizes that may include PDAs, iPods, GPS devices, Novell apparel, Novell Training Courses, cool toys from Think Geek, Cybertools, and more.

  1. You submit an article or tip via the page you're on right now.

  2. OR submit a tool as usual as outlined on this page.

  3. Editors will review the submission for publication worthiness, and will determine the point value of the submission. Tips earn up to 75 points; articles earn up to 125 points and Free Tools earn up to 125 points.
Note: Articles written by vendors of third-party commercial products are not entitled to Novell Rewards Points; likewise, demo or eval copies of commercial products that are submitted for the Cool Tools section are not entitled to Novell Rewards Points.

Points and publication worthiness are determined based on these criteria:
    1. Length.
    2. Technical accuracy.
    3. Relevance to Novell audience. (Uses Novell products and technologies.)
    4. Completeness and educational value. (Did you provide clear steps, helpful screen shots and illustrations, supporting links and files where appropriate? Does it explain the solution to a problem in such a way that a reader could replicate it? Does it include all essential details readers will need?)
    5. Originality. (Submissions must be original work of submitter.) If we learn that a published article was plagiarized, we will remove it from the site, remove the points from the author's account, and post the author's name on the Bad Dog list.

  4. When/if your article is published, you will receive an email with the link to the article, and be notified of number of points you have earned for it. You can check your points at any time in the Contributor Area.

Important: Points are not actually earned until publication of the piece (aka Payment Upon Publication). In other words, submission of an article does not automatically rack up points. The article has to be posted to earn the points. Unpublished submissions remain the property of the author, and can be published elsewhere at the author's discretion.

  5. Whenever you want to (including that very minute), you may proceed to the Novell Rewards Page to view the available prizes, and redeem your points. (Shirts will still be available, in case you're trying to collect them all.)

  6. Prizes subject to change at any time, subject to availability. (For example, if you are working toward an iPod Shuffle, it's possible that Apple will have discontinued them by the time you've earned enough points for one, and we would be unable to offer it to you.) So, the prizes listed on the Novell Rewards site on the day you redeem your points are the only ones you can claim on that day.

Note: Points are non-transferrable, so don't even think about selling them on eBay...

Hope to hear from you soon.
