The Deployment Guide Team has been busy cranking out a bunch of new, uh, well, deployment guides to help customers and users alike get up to speed on the cool new stuff the NetWare engineers have been working on.

One of the newest of these guides is titled "Deploying Novell iFolder on Novell NetWare Servers." Novell iFolder gives users an automatic, secure, and transparent way to synchronize their files between their hard drives and an iFolder server. This is a great productivity plus since it gives users access to current copies of their work files from anywhere with a web browser.

iFolder runs on NetWare 5.1 with Support Pack 3 or NetWare 6 so if you have these systems in your environment or your plans, iFolder may be just the ticket for you.

The deployment guide does a great job of detailing each of the steps necessary to hit the road running with this slick technology. Here are a few of the chapter headings:

  • Step 1. Planning
  • Step 2. Pre-installation
  • Step 3. Install iFolder Software on Server
  • Step 4. Configure the iFolder Server(s)
  • Step 5. Deploying iFolder into a Clustered Environment (optional)
  • Step 6. Install the iFolder Client on User Workstations

This particular guide is so new it's only avialable in .pdf format but that worked well for us since we needed hard-copy instructions for reference. You can grab the guide here.
