Montreal, Canada - September 26, 2006 - Messaging Architects, a leading provider of Email Risk Management software and services, today announced the availability of GWFax 4.0 for GroupWise. GWFax is an enterprise-class fax solution with native GroupWise integration that enables users to effortlessly send, receive, annotate, and manage their faxes directly from the standard GroupWise client, the GroupWise Web Access Client, or the GroupWise Wireless client. The new release has added support for Citrix and Terminal Services environments and integrates with Novell eDirectory for centralized administration. To address the current climate of stringent regulations that affect most organizations in the financial, healthcare, and government sectors, GWFax ties in seamlessly with GWArchive, Messaging Architects' powerful information management platform that combines email archiving, eDiscovery, regulatory compliance, data protection, and storage optimization into a single solution.
"The rules and regulations governing the public sector and regulated industries have become increasingly rigorous when it comes to archiving of documents. Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm Leach Bliley, and HIPAA, SEC 17 and NASD 3010/3110 regulations all stipulate that organizations must retain secure records of communication for specific retention periods. To meet these requirements, most of them have already put in place systems for managing the retention of electronic documents. Faxes, however, frequently fall through the cracks between hard copy and electronic documents and tend to be overlooked," said Michael Mastine, Product Manager at Messaging Architects. "To address this problem, Messaging Architects provides a solution for capturing copies of fax transmissions, as well as email and attachments, and storing them on tamper-proof media, such as Content Addressable Storage (CAS) and Write Once Read Many (WORM) to ensure record-level retention and disposition for even the most stringent regulations."
By combining two enterprise-class products, GWFax and GWArchive, organizations are able to enforce their document retention and disposition policies automatically, in a consistent manner that simplifies compliance audits. Both inbound and outbound faxes can be captured for archival. A central definition of retention and disposition policies for email and faxes can be enforced, as well as the automatic association of fax documents with corporate retention policies and their scheduled export to external systems or to compliance storage hardware.
GWFax 4.0 includes the following enhancements:
- Fax on Demand for a simple and cost-effective solution to meet peak volume demand with no additional infrastructure
- Anti-spam filter to stop incoming faxes based on specified criteria
- Dynamic inbound line allocation to automatically manage faxes for more efficient use of available lines
- Mobility option allows users to send faxes directly from their handheld device when using Messaging Architects' GWAnywhere .
