09 Jun 2005 - Delete Attachments from Selected Messages - Updated
This applet lets users remove attachments from received e-mail messages, reducing message storage requirements. To better represent the date information associated with the original message, when using GroupWise 6.5.1 (SP1) or later, this version uses the Delivered Date message property.
09 Jun 2005 - Print Message
This applet uses a Formativ Portal to provide a printable version of the selected GroupWise message. The distinguishing feature of the message print format is that it appends a list of any message attachments (name, size, date/time).
Updated: 09 Jun 2005 - To enable language independent operation, when using GroupWise 6.5.2 (SP2) or later, this version takes advantage of new APIs to access file attachment size and date information.

12 Apr 2005 - Reply with Attachments
Reply with Attachments lets you reply to an existing message, automatically adding any attachments found on the incoming message to the reply. After installing the solution, hold down the SHIFT key while replying to add the attachments.
31 Mar 2005 - Formativ source code for TUT333 BrainShare session
Advansys has made available the Formativ source code for their TUT333 BrainShare session examples, which illustrate programming techniques for extending the GroupWise client.
10 Mar 2005 - Export GroupWise appointments into Excel
This applet will export GroupWise appointments, within a user specified date range, into an MS Excel spreadsheet report. The appointment durations, for both individual and the appointments total, are also provided in the report.
Update: The solution now prevents export of appointments in the Sent folder.
10 Mar 2005 - Remind Me
This applet lets you create automatic reminder messages in your GroupWise account. Reminder messages are e-mail messages that are automatically sent to you on the date you specify. You can optionally specify that a certain GroupWise message is to be attached to the reminder message.
Update: Fixes a problem that could cause an error message to occur on GroupWise startup if a reminder was scheduled to be sent, but the original message had been deleted from the account.

Have you ever sent an email message to someone without that important file you stated was attached? The Attachment Checker is a free solution from Advansys which will help avoid those embarrassing and potentially costly omissions.
20 Jan 2005 - Personal Outlook Migration Pack 2.0 - Updated
This solution migrates Microsoft Outlook Email, Appointments, Contacts, Journal entries, Tasks and Notes into GroupWise. It also includes an undo facility, which let you easily remove the imported items from GroupWise. Version 2.0.3 now supports the migration of an Outlook contact's middle name, suffix and prefix parameters.
22 Dec 2004 - Outlook Reply
The Outlook Reply solution inserts Outlook-style reply text into email messages when replying or forwarding. Hold down the SHIFT key when replying or forwarding to NOT insert the Outlook style formatting. Works with Formativ Runtime or above.
16 Dec 2004 - No Junk Mail
Requires Formativ 2.0 or above

No Junk Mail is a user controlled tool to help prevent unwanted email from reaching your GroupWise mailbox. Behind the scenes it leverages GroupWise Rules, allowing it to block email according to email address, subject and message content and attachment name.
02 Dec 2004 - Today View Solution
Requires Formativ 2.0 or above

The Today View solution adds two new calendar views to GroupWise. These views summarize your calendar entries for the week using a rich, color-coded display. Calendar items are 'live', meaning you can click them to open the original GroupWise message. You can tailor the appearance of the views by choosing from two layouts/color schemes and the types of calendar information to be displayed.
11 Nov 2004 - iCal (iCalendar) Solution
Requires Formativ 2.0 or above

The Formativ iCal Solution makes it easy to share appointments with people using other collaboration software, such as Microsoft Outlook. It enables two-way conversion of iCal (iCalendar, .ics) file attachments to draft or from received GroupWise appointments.
21 Apr 2004 - Send welcome message to new users
This example has been updated to create the draft welcome message in the Work in Progress folder instead of the mailbox. This change was required to work around an issue in the GroupWise client that could cause the draft message creation to fail if the mailbox contained a large number of items.

21 Apr 2004 - Mailbox View
This example has been updated to use the dynamically determined applet name in the portal instead of a hard-coded value. The hard coded path could cause the applet to fail if the name of the MailBox view applet was changed.

This solution displays a custom Formativ Portal view of your mailbox mail messages. For today, this week or an unrestricted time period, you can choose to display all messages or just those which are either unread or which have attachments.
21 Apr 2004 - Enable or disable Document Management example
This example has been updated to take into account a change in menu context names introduced in GroupWise 6.5 that would cause the DMS menu items not to be removed.

This applet example will allow you to enable or disable the Document Management menus and functions within the GroupWise 6.0 client (English only).

This applet will insert a list of attachment names at the end of the body text of outgoing messages.
03 Sep 2003 - Document Management System Meta Data Export
Export meta data from a selected GroupWise Document Library to a CSV file suitable for importing into Excel or any other CSV-compatible application. This information is useful when undertaking usage analysis of your document libraries.
28 Jul 2003 - Export to Disk
Steven Stewart submitted an applet that will save selected items in a GroupWise folder to a user-designated directory on disk. Each folder contains the original message in wpd format, the message information is saved as a .txt file as well as any attachments. (Updated: 23 Jul 2003) The updated version adds the functionality of appending to an existing index.html file in a given directory.
23 Jul 2003 - CSV Address Book Importer
The applet displays the fields in the CSV file and allows you to map them to the desired GroupWise address book fields. The CSV contacts data will be imported into the target GroupWise address book according to the selected mapping. Updated: 23 Jul 2003 - Now includes automatic support for all address book fields in the user's current GroupWise version (5.5 or above), which means it now supports custom fields and the new GroupWise 6.5 address book fields.
10 Jul 2003 - Quick Proxy Rights
This applet enables quick customization and assignment of current GroupWise account proxy rights to all users in a selected GroupWise address book.

Here is a new applet from the Advansys team that will send one copy of the current open e-mail message to each recipient e-mail address stored in a flat text file.

Export details of your proxy accounts, including rights, to a CSV file which is then opened automatically in Excel.
21 May 2003 - Web Browser
Add a generic web browser window to the GroupWise client. You can display any valid URL in the browser, including Internet and Intranet web pages.

Export Address Book Group membership details to a CSV file.
10 Apr 2003 - Mailbox Cleanup
Reduce your mailbox size by deleting/moving messages from your account which fall between a given date range.
26 Mar 2003 - Conditions of Use
Solution example which enforces an organization's Terms and Conditions of Use for the GroupWise system. Upon GroupWise startup a dialog displays the conditions of use and, to be able to send messages, the user must press the [I Agree] button. If the user disagrees, they cannot send messages using the GroupWise client.
20 Mar 2003 - Customize Startup Folder
This applet lets you specify which GroupWise folder should be selected upon startup. You can choose from the Mailbox (default), the Calendar, Work in Progress folder, and now the Checklist folder for GroupWise 6.5.

This week we have two applets that work hand in hand to provide category support for GroupWise 5.5 and 6.0 users. The 'Categories' applet lets you assign any GroupWise message to one or more user-defined categories. The 'Categories View' applet creates a new view from where users can view and manage categorized items.
27 Nov 2002 - View Sent Items
This applet enables the user to change the folder view temporarily to display only the sent items within that folder, just with the click of a button. The folder display will revert to the original view when you move off and back onto the folder or if you hold the Shift key down when you run the applet.
30 Oct 2002 - Copy FromText to clipboard
This applet provides a single click method to copy the FromText field of the selected GroupWise message to the Windows clipboard.
17 Oct 2002 - Accounting Codes System Example
This applet lets you assign accounting codes to appointments in GroupWise. An accounting code might represent a particular client or case. You can use the associated "Accounting Codes Report" applet to produce a cost report for any category within a time period. The "Accounting Codes Report" applet also lets you add, edit and delete the accounting codes available for selection.

This applet lists members of the selected GroupWise distribution list in a Formativ 1.5 portal. You can optionally print the list from the portal display.This solution will work only with Formativ 1.5.

This sample applet uses the ADO object to first display all the records from the test access database provided and to later find and display a record using an SQL statement.

The GroupWise Filter feature lets you display items according to specific criteria. For example, a filter can display only items that have a certain word in the subject. You can also use a filter to hide items in the current view.

This applet sorts the GroupWise folders and sub folders by ascending or descending order.

This is a simple applet which provides a convenient right mouse context menu toggle between text/HTML view mode.

Download and run the installation program, which will install the Applet solution to the correct location on your computer and will display the applet help text. Restart your GroupWise client.

Installation Notes:

To install and use the Applet solution, you must have already installed either Formativ Runtime (recommended for most users) or Formativ Creator (or Formativ Studio). You can download a fully featured 30-day trial version here:

An entry to the Applet help file will be added under Start|Programs|Advansys Formativ Solutions and an entry will be added to the Windows Add/Remove Programs listing, which enables individual Applet removal via the standard Windows uninstall technique.

The installation program will install the appropriate Formativ Applet automatically. If you have Formativ Runtime installed, the Flexalock(tm) Applet version will be installed. If you have Formativ Creator (or Studio) installed, if provided, the open source applet version will be installed.
