On a number of occasions, messages I've received in GW 5.2 for Windows seem to have been understood as consisting of a message body plus several attachments, when in fact in each such case, it was a single message. Perhaps there's a character sequence we should be sure not to use in a message body? Thanks, Ian.

A:
Ian, GroupWise actually considers an attachment a separate entity from the message itself. So what you type in the message body has no bearing whatsoever on how the attachments come across—within GroupWise. However, if you are receiving messages in MIME format through a gateway, the message and attachments are received as one entity, separated by certain delimiters provided by the gateway. Since we have no information on what gateway you are using or what e-mail system the originator of these garbled messages was using, that’s all we can tell you for now. We recommend you contact Novell Technical Services if these problems continue. (And, BTW, thanks for all the scoops on sandgroping you sent a while back; we were intrigued!) (Version: 5.x)
