Hi, W.S. We are eager to help you impress your supervisor. However, were wondering why you want to give so many people Proxy rights to one resource? If you just want your staff to be able to check when the conference room is already booked, they dont need Proxy rights at all; they can just use Busy Search. If you do choose to give your entire staff Proxy rights, it sounds to us like youre asking for major pandemonium. Even if your staff members arent overriding and deleting appointments that others have accepted for the conference room maliciously, appointment requests could come in at the same time, creating a greater risk for overbooking the conference room. Another real risk is underbookingsince if everyones in charge, that really means no ones in charge. If John thinks Sue will respond to requests for the conference room, why would he waste his time doing it? All the while, Sue may be thinking Johns got the room covered. However, if you are the resource owner and you are convinced that granting 100-200 people Proxy rights to one conference room is really what you want to do, you can do it fairly easily, especially if you have the Patch (or SP2, meaning GW 5.2.2). If you have an earlier version of GroupWise, youll need to assign Proxy rights one user at a time. If you have the Patch, you can assign Proxy rights to an entire group at a time, and we assume youve already created a group comprising your staff members. (Version: 5.x)
