The Problem is that no novell client is used (and never will be used...). GroupWise is used via a client/server connection. No eDirectory login is used. Because of that it is not possible to use login credentials stating that a person has to change his/her password after 30 days.

Can Novell include a possible solution to read the Novell credentials from eDirectory and transfer it to the GroupWise login feature, so that users in a Windows only environment are prompted to change their GroupWise password after e.g. 30 days...?

This is what LDAP authentication is for. You could leverage Active Directory's password strength options via LDAP, and GroupWise users would be prompted accordingly.

Check out the GroupWise 6.5 online documentation for information on LDAP Authentication. http://www.novell.com/documentation/lg/gw65/index.html.
