Modprobe error on bootup.

Q:
Upon booting up my NLD the other day and switched to the logger screen (F2), I noticed an error message. After a few reboots to verify it, I don't understand why I'm getting the following:

modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting hw_random (/lib/modules/2.6.5-7.109.5-default/kernel/drivers/char/hw_random.ko): Input/output error

A:
It's a result of cold-/ hotplug trying to load some modules to figure out, "if it makes sense on your system or not"...

You can easily blacklist such modules by adding their name to the file /etc/hotplug/blacklist without the .ko extension, ie., add:

hw_random

to the file and you won't see that message again once you boot the system next time.
