Trouble starting Novell Audit

Q:
I get the following error starting Novell Audit 1.02 on Linux:

mtolx085:/etc/init.d # ./novell-naudit start
Starting Novell Audit:
mtolx085:/etc/init.d # MDBDriver 'mdbds.so', successfully loaded
Novell Audit: Could not read "NAuditIdentifier" attribute from log server object "\ACMEAUDIT\Logging Services\ACMEAudit Logging Server - mtolx085".
Novell Audit: Could not authenticate to MDB; aborting.

I cannot find any reference to this attribute nor how to fix the problem.

On your Linux machine, run /opt/novell/naudit/auditext and choose the option to configure this server. That will set up the attribute for you.
