Why I asked is because NW6.0 auditing feature known as NAAS is no longer supported by Novell and many TIDs refer us to Novell Audit. So are we free to download and install it as replacement for NAAS?

No. The Novell Audit Starter Pack (the free, downloadable version of Novell Audit) is licensed for free with NetWare 6.5 or higher. Any prior versions of NetWare will require an upgrade of NetWare or purchase of Novell Audit.
