Tools for site statistics
Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Q:
I've been looking around at different free tools to do site statistics. What's everyone using, and why? Have you found that most of the php/mysql type tools work on NetWare without much modification?
We don't need anything too fancy, but we would need day/month/year summary stats. The ability to make easy-to-read graphs would also be desireable. I've looked at Analog/Webalizer sample reports so far, but didn't care for them that much (also wasn't crazy about running Analog as an NLM). Any better alternatives, or should I suck it up and go with one of the big-two?
A:
Here are a couple of options recommended by experts in the Support Forums:
Anders Gustafsson: I use the NLM version of Analog.
Fribse: I'm using Webalizer, which needs a bit of tweaking, in my opinion, to get it working properly.
I'm running 5-6 websites and I do the analyzing of them each in a separate memory space. This way I can run them concurrently. It does ok stats, not anything spectacular.
I've tried with AWStats and perl, but perl for NetWare 6.0 is apparently unusable, and it abends the whole server = VERY BAD :-)
