Concerns about iFolder passwords locking files permanently

Q:
While iFolder would be very useful for our company, the password is a bit troubling. If I remember correctly, there is no way to get into the files if the password is not known. My company would have a couple issues with this. First, simple end user screw up could destroy the availability of files which could be crucial. Second, if someone left the company not on good terms they could easily lock out data they had. Third, the company would not allow non-encrypted files so passwords would be necessary.
Given this, is there any way to remove the ability of the end user to change the password either once it has been set and verified by IT, or is it possible for IT to log into the account the first time and set the password and never have the end user to given the option to change it?
BTW: This is "Pre-Migration". I will be moving to 6.5 very soon and want to make sure I have a complete checklist of what I need to do/ download/ worry ALOT about/ etc. iFolder is one of the things I want to be able to offer the company ASAP as it is one of the features (along with BOMA and Webdrive) which will help me keep M$ off my servers.
A:
You are mixing up "password" and "passphrase". The password is the normal eDirectory password and is used to give access to iFolder. The (optional) passphrase is used to encrypt the files and that is recoverable as well in the recent versions of iFolder.
