Do we need the iPrint client on workstations?

Q:
I am thinking about migrating my legacy printing to iPrint, but I'm wondering if I have to deploy the iPrint client to all the workstations. Seems like if I already have the correct printer driver installed, and have configured the printer port to point to the IPP:// URL, then I don't actually need the iPrint client to print. Is that a correct assumption?
A:
A fundamental piece of iPrint is the iPrint Client. In order to install iPrint printers and to run any of the iPrint utilities you must have it. This is no problem with having iPrint printers and legacy printing running on the same box through the migration.
