Storing Files to NAS
Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer
Q:
We'd like to install iFolder on Windows 2000. The Win 2000 server will be using a Quantum SNAP NAS device (1 TB of storage for $12,000) as the main repository for data. Has anyone tried this? Can you see any reason why this won't work? We're hoping that, even if this is not the most efficient design possible, if the server can communicate with the NAS as a drive letter (say the G:\ drive) or as a UNC path (\\nas_server\volume) then it should pose no problems... right?
A:
Yep, this design should work just fine. There will be some latency in storing the files to the NAS, but this shouldn't be a problem for iFolder.
