Q:
Clicking the Tree Browse button in ConsoleOne during the initial authentication screen displays gibberish for the Trees, or just plain crashes the browser. The error will indicate that a problem outside of Java (error level 11) in libndssdk.so.1 was the culprit.

A:
The problem is in openslp, sort of.

I first thought it was openslp because I could get the NDSslp that comes with ConsoleOne to work, but uninstalling openslp causes other things not to work right (such as CUPS).

Finally, I discovered that all you need is to install openslp-devel, as there is apparently something in that package which the libndssdk.so.1 needs to access. I'm not certain if you have to have openslp-server (I happen to have it installed) or not, but you DEFINITELY have to have openslp-devel installed and all your troubles will be gone.
