Inline and Journaling modes

The 1.0.2 Administration Guide mentions that Novell Audit can do inline mode or journaling mode. The box where we are doing file event auditing is experiencing a lot of slowness. Because of our particluar setup, I am thinking that the overhead of logging the files inline is the likely culprit. But I can't find ANYTHING about these possible settings aside from the fact that they exist, mentioned only in the Admin Guide.

Does anybody know anything about these two modes? Is inline the default, as I suspect? I would really like to test Journaling mode - I think that it would solve our current issue.

There is an option in the Nsure eDirectory Instrumentation section of the server object accessed via iManager (each server that has the agent running). Under GLOBAL, there are two options. One of those options is "Register for Events Inline".
