We are have Identity Manager 2.01 set up and running in our lab, and I can't figure out how to create user home directories using rules. My thoughts are I need some type of rule in the creation policy to set, create and grant rights to the users home directory, but I cant find any examples on how to do this.
A:
Your best bet is to create a set of Template objects in eDirectory that
have the Home Directory assigned to be the parent of where you want home
directories created, as well as the correct file system rights to the
home or other directories. Then in the publisher creation policy you
would assign the correct template to each user using the "set operation
template dn" action. Alternatively, you could just assign the Home
Directory attribute in the creation policy instead of assigning the
template, with the caveat that you will get the default assignment of
file system rights (which is usually good enough).
