Passing login info to apps

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Posted: 4 Nov 2005

Q:
I am looking for some API support in NSL through which I can find out which user is logged into the system. I want to provide info to 3rd-party apps on which user is logged into the system.

A:
You can use the "?sysuser" command to find the currently logged-in user. Once you set this variable you can use it to pass information to the app.

For example, if the Username required in the application is the same as the system username, then you can use ?sysuser instead of $username to pass the information to the application.
