Deleting NSL info in ConsoleOne

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Q:
From the Client, a user goes to "Manage Logins" and delete a login and save, but the login keeps coming back.

In ConsoleOne, if I go to the Novell Secret Store tab - Application view and try to delete the same application, I get the message "Deletion of xxx.xxx.com is pending - do you want to delete the secret?"

A:
The issue here is that the application and the ID/Password pair are stored separately. The script and definition are held in the NSL attributes, while the ID/Password is held in the SecretStore with a copy in the NSL attributes.

This means that the only way to delete the information is to do it in two passes, but both can be done in Console One. First, with the user off-line, delete the application from the container/user object, then go into the user's secret store and delete the ID/Password set.

When the user comes back on line, the application will be deleted. The user will see the SecretStore obituary and can delete the ID/Password details correctly.
